This class was a pretty interesting course. The beginning of the course started with a review of Linear Algebra and an introduction to the Finite Element Analysis process. We then began to work with the Algor Finite Element Analysis software. One of our first homeworks involved figuring the stress in a part and then making the part in Algor and then verifying that our hand calculations are correct. The beauty of this software is that once you know the software has a good working model, you can increase your mesh size and have the computer get much more accurate.
