First thing to come up every year is the chives. Sometimes they come up when there is still snow on the ground.

The garlic I planted in November is sprouting in April.

Seedlings growing, the bed looks bare right now, but this squash will explode in size!

The other bed, garlic getting bigger in May. The carrots in the middle, sunflowers in the back, beans on the side.

Plants after a few weeks.

The other bed, getting bigger.

I had to build a dog-proof enclosure, not only will they jump right into the garden and dig, Zak will steal my vegetables and fruits!

My security

You can see the trap set for the evil woodchucks who can climb the fence.

Frank, guarding the yard.

Modern art in the west corner

Mid-July, garlic is ready to be picked, thinned out carrots a bit but they will still be crowded, next year I should space them farther apart! I love the fact that the sunflowers are all healthy and strong! The cucumbers will probably be overshadowed by the squash, need their own bed next year.

Chives growing everywhere, let these ones flower.

Squash growing like crazy!

I have to move the shed, in the lowest part of the yard, mud inside from heavy rain

New shed spot.

More squash! Anemic cucumber from no sun ...

I should start selling to the supermarket!

Late August, early September. We had loads and loads of zuchinni and summer squash, lots of green beans. The carrots grew well on top but were planted too close and got quite deformed. I haven't picked all of them yet, but the row I picked were pretty funny looking! The sunflowers grew great, had great big flowers and are now hanging with the petals falling off. I will pick and harvest the sunflower seeds in the next week. Our cucumbers got shaded too much from the squash so they only produced a few. The squash has started dying out in the last week of August but are still producing fruits. A big load of suash bugs are eating the leaves but haven't affected any of the fruits. The tomatoes are being eaten from underneath by an unseen source, I suspect mice or some other small rodents. Next year, they will have more protection on them.
